Jeanne M. Ludwig, 85, of Elkhorn, WI, passed away on Monday, October 13, 2025, with her daughters by her side.  She was born August 29, 1940, in Medford, WI, the daughter of the late Ernest "Ernie" Westrich and June (Owens) Blank.  She spent many joyful hours helping her father on the farm and having fun with her brother, sister and cousins at Sackett Lake.  While attending the Taylor County Teacher's College, she met the love of her life, Dennis (Denny) Ludwig.  They married on August 13, 1960, in Stetsonville, WI, eventually settling in Elkhorn, WI, where Denny had accepted a teaching position with the Elkhorn Area School District.  They raised their four children in Elkhorn and would remain life-long residents. Jeanne had an unwavering and constant devotion to her family.  In 1971, they realized their dream of building a home of their own.  After her children were grown, she worked part-time as a market researcher for the A.C. Nielsen Company for over 20 years.  Jeanne enjoyed gardening, cooking, reading, old movies, classic country music, cribbage, trivia and was a die-hard Green Bay Packer and Milwaukee Brewer fan.  Her favorite pastime though was heading to Northern Wisconsin fishing and camping with Denny and their dear friends, Ron and Ellen.  Even after Denny's passing, their good friend Gene would continue to visit her and she enjoyed those visits so very much.

Jeanne is survived by her two daughters, Lisa (Brian) Schmidt and Lori (Erich) Reinl, five grandchildren, Sean Riemer, Chuck (Anna) Riemer, Tyler (Christy) Schmidt, Katie Schmidt and Natalie (Wade) Sterken, three step-grandchildren, Tory, Kimi and Erica, sister, Leslee Larsen, son-in-law, JT Essex, eight great-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband Denny Ludwig, son, Carey Ludwig, daughter, Lynn Essex, and two siblings, Lawrence (Swede) Westrich and Dorene Fox.  She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and her neighborhood family, including her bonus son Greg.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025, from 4pm to 7 pm at Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Homes & Crematory in Elkhorn, WI, with a private family burial at Hazel Ridge Cemetery in Elkhorn.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to The Bridge Food & Diaper Bank, 205 Commerce Ct, Elkhorn, WI 53121 or The Time is Now To Help, P.O.
