Jeffrey “Jeff” G. Mattern, age 63 of West Milwaukee passed away on January 29, 2026 at Froedtert Medical Center in Milwaukee, WI surrounded by his family. Jeff was born in Parma, OH, son of Terril and the late Patricia (Brenner) Mattern on September 11, 1962. On May 2, 1992 Jeff married Tammy Bahr at the United Methodist Church in Whitefish Bay. They together raised their family in their home in West Milwaukee. Jeff enjoyed anything outdoors including camping, off trail hiking, backyard fires, or simply just being in nature. He enjoyed long motorcycle rides, road trips to Florida, the Wisconsin State Fair, and of course cold beer. (He was especially partial to Coors Banquet!) He had a deep love for his family. What brought him the most joy was spending time with his grandchildren. He truly lived for them and was notoriously known for breaking his own rules. Jeff’s final contribution in his earthly life was that he gave the gift of hope with the donation of viable organs.
Jeff is survived by his wife Tammy, his father Terry (Sharon Holden), children Devin Bahr (GG), Kody Mattern (Brittany); and grandchildren Levi Mattern, Kallan Mattern; niece Alyssa Mattern, nephew Alex (Caitlin) Mattern; and many other family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his mother Patricia; father-in-law Robert Bahr; Mother-in-law Gail (Bernie) Zimpher, and grandparents Ethel & Irving Mattern, and Zella & Edward Brenner.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Jeff on May 2, 2026; location and time will be announced at a later time.
