Elkhorn: Joan L. Longhorn; 74 of Elkhorn, WI died Wednesday May 14, 2014 at Waukesha Memorial Hospital Waukesha, WI. She was born June 20, 1939 in Madison, WI the daughter of the late Lewis and Irene (Hoffman) Berry. Joan was united in marriage to Arthur G. Longhorn June 11, 1966. She attended and graduated from Alverno College Milwaukee, WI with a B.A. in Education. Joan was a teacher and taught school for over 24 years at St. Augustine's in Bay View, WI, St. Monica's in Whitefish Bay, WI, Milwaukee Public School in Milwaukee, WI and St. Andrew's in Delavan, WI. She was a counselor for the Kaiser Group of Elkhorn for 4 years before retiring in 2000. Joan was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church of Elkhorn, WI. She was an avid quilter, excellent golfer and was a member of the Trout Lake Ladies Golf League. Joan especially enjoyed spending her summers up-north at their home in Manitowish Waters, WI where she watched the hummingbirds and enjoyed fishing with her husband Art. She is survived by her husband of 48 years Arthur, 2 sons; David (Kelli) Longhorn of Portage, MI and Kevin Longhorn of Elkhorn, WI, eight grandchildren, two sisters and four brothers. She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister. Funeral Mass will be 3:30 PM Monday May 19, 2014 at St. Patrick Catholic Church 107 W. Walworth St. Elkhorn, WI with Father Jim Vojtik officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery Elkhorn, WI. Visitation will be Sunday 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home and Crematory 730 N. Wisconsin St. Elkhorn, WI.
