Joanna Catherine Rangel of Elkhorn, WI was born to eternal life on Thursday, December 19, 2024.  She was born on October 7, 1934 in Elkhorn, the daughter of the late James and Johanna  Jansen (nee Potter).  Joanna graduated from Elkhorn High School and married Carlos Valero Rangel, Jr. on July 12, 1953 in Delavan.  They were married for 52 years until his death.  Joanna worked at Oak Manufacturing. before opening her own restaurant, Joanna's, in Delavan.  She also worked at Abell's Corners.  Carlos and Joanna retired to their second home in Merrill, WI for several years before returning to Elkhorn.  She enjoyed cooking, crafting, sewing and recording her wonderful recipes.  In her younger years she learned Tae Kwon Do with her son Steven.  She also enjoyed riding her motorcycle and loved animals, especially her cats.

Joanna is survived by her son Charles (Dawn) Rangel, nieces, nephews, step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Carlos, son Steven and three siblings: James Potter, Frances Potter and Rosemary Weber.
