John H. Chapman

John H. Chapman, 92, of Elkhorn, WI, passed away on Friday, August 28, 2026, at Angel’s Grace Hospice in Oconomowoc, WI. He was born July 10, 1934, in Waukesha, WI, the son of the late Earl and Isabelle (Kuntz) Chapman. John was united in marriage to Patricia Pryor for over 50 years until her passing on September 14, 2013. John loved to travel, spending many winters in South Padre Island. He believed the people you met while traveling were more important than the destination. John was an outdoorsman who loved to camp, fish, and hunt. He was reliable friend who treasured staying connected. John proudly served in the United States Navy’s Pacific Fleet. John was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend.

John is survived by five children: Mark (Dan) Chapman, Julie (Douglas) Doughty, John (Jenni) Chapman, Jim (Lisa) Chapman, and Mike (Andrea) Chapman, six grandchildren: Kali (John), Ryan (Samantha), Megan (Derek), Alexis (Evan), Kate, and Jake (Lauren), four great-grandchildren: Hadley, Johnny, Chapman, and Isaac, and his partner Jane Adams. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Patricia, and his four siblings: Jean Brisk, Jane Plechaty, Nova Mathews, and George Chapman.

Memorial Mass will be 3:00PM on Friday, September 18, 2026, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 107 W. Walworth St. Elkhorn, WI. Visitation will be 2:00PM until service time Friday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial in John’s name may be directed to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church or plant a tree in his honor. Online guest book available at www.haaselockwoodfhs.com.
