Obituary
John Rausch, age 74 of Wilmot, WI, with his wife and 4 children by his side, passed away Wednesday October 29, 2014 at Orlando Regional Medical Center in Orlando, FL. John was born in Chicago, IL to the late John and Marge (Walz) Rausch. His family moved to Wilmot when he was a young boy. John loved his country and proudly served in the United States Army from 1959 to 1962, serving 26 months in Alaska. On March 23, 1963 John was united in marriage with Barbara Nelson in Kenosha, WI. Together they raised four children who live in the Wilmot/Twin Lakes area.
After his education at Gateway Technical College in 1967 with a degree in Fluid Power Technology, John worked as an Operating Engineer for 37 years. Upon retiring in 2002 John started his own concrete company, JBRausch LLC, which ran until he retired again in 2012. John and Barb are founding members of Riverwood Community Church in Burlington, WI. They recently bought a home in The Villages, Florida.
John loved sports and was an avid Milwaukee Brewers and Bucks, Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers fan. He also enjoyed golfing. He was a member of the American Legion post of Wilmot, WI and also a member of Local #150 IUOE.
John is survived by his wife of 51 years, Barb; his four children, Scott (Jennifer) Rausch, Becki (Patrick) Berg, Heidi (Bob) Anderson and Lisa (Nathan) Oglesby; his twelve grandchildren, Levi (Kristan) Rausch, Hannah (Tyler) Blohm, Zeb Rausch, Gabe Rausch, Quincy Berg, Jadyn Berg, Marina Anderson, Wil Anderson, Parks Anderson, Olivia Faber, Gavin Faber and Calvin Faber; one great grandchild, Declan Rausch; his brothers, Fred (Judy) Rausch and Michael (Mary Ellen) Rausch.
A celebration of John's life will be held on Sunday, November 16, 2014 at 2:30PM at the Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home at 620 Legion Drive, Twin Lakes, WI. The family will receive friends from 11:00AM until the time of services. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Holmen, WI. Memorials in John's name may be made to a charity of your choice.
