Joseph G. Pilar, 70, of Elkhorn, WI, died Sunday, March 6, 2016, in Whitewater, WI. He was born on April 29, 1945, in Chicago, IL, the only child of the late Joseph and Theresa (Butscher) Pilar. Joe proudly served his country in the US Army with a tour of duty in Vietnam. Joe was the owner and operator of Millard Grocery Store from 1968 to 1980, and the owner and operator of the Front Parlor Antiques Shop in Millard, WI since 1983. He was a dedicated member of St. Patrick Catholic Church of Whitewater, WI. Joe was passionate in the care and training of his beloved animals. Joe was an outstanding euchre card player and won many trophies. Joe is survived by cousins and many close friends. The dedication and support of the United Health Care Hospice team allowed Joe peace and comfort during his time of need. Visitation will be Thursday, March 10, 2016, at St. Patrick Catholic Church 1225 W. MainStreet Whitewater, WI from 10:00 am until 11:00 am. Immediately following will be his funeral mass of Christian Burial which will be held at 11:00 am with Father Mark Niehaus officiating. Joe's Burial with respected military honors will be at 12:30 pm at Millard Cemetery,Millard, WI. Memorials may be made in Joe's name to St. Patrick Catholic Church Whitewater, WI.
