Julie A. Barnes, 57 of Elkhorn, WI, passed away after a long battle with Leukemia on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at UW-Health in Madison, WI. She was born June 10, 1967, in West Allis, WI, the daughter of the late Frank and Patricia (Hanson) O'Neal.  Julie was united in marriage to David L. Barnes on December 15, 2000.   She worked in sales for the Walworth County Shopper and later the Janesville Gazette.  Julie loved interacting with her clients and assisted with many events through the communities Chambers of Commerce.

Julie loved her family dearly and her home was the FUN house.  Her favorite times were entertaining at their pool.  Julie was an excellent listener and truly cared for everyone in her life.   She was well known for her Thanksgiving feast, where everyone was welcomed.  Julie was very competitive and enjoyed playing games.  Whether it was volleyball or the Saran Wrap ball at Christmas, the games quickly became a competition.   Julie always wanted to have fun and make sure everyone else was too.  She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, who will be deeply missed.

Julie is survived by her loving husband of 31 years, David, four sons: Matt (Natalie) Hoskins, Lee Hoskins, Cory (Chloe Burrows) Hoskins, Kyle (Emily Remington) Hoskins, five grandchildren: Mason, Bronx, Remi, Paxton, and Kya, five siblings: Jeff (Louise) O'Neal, Dennis O'Neal, Frank "Randy" O'Neal, Rene (James) O'Brien, and Tracy Hillenbrand, dear niece, Olivia, many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Patricia O'Neal.

A Celebration of Julie's Life will be held from 2:00 to 4:00PM on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Homes and Crematory, 730 N. Wisconsin St. Elkhorn, WI 53121.   Online guest book available at www.haaselockwoodfhs.com.
