IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kathleen S.
Snavely
May 26, 1959 – June 15, 2024
Kathleen Shaver Snavely, 65, of Burlington, WI, passed away and joined our Heavenly Father on June 15, 2024, after a brief but incredibly courageous and hard-fought battle with cancer. She was born May 26, 1959, in Detroit, MI, to Anita Levesque and John Shaver. A cosmetologist by trade, Kathleen started her career in Mundelein, IL, later opening her salon in Spring Grove, IL, where she would spend the next 25+ years caring for her loyal clients, making lifelong friends (sisters) while doing the work she loved.
Kathleen regularly went out of her way to meet, make, and include new friends. She was always willing to lend a hand to any person or animal in need and didn't mind getting her hands dirty. Her drive and passion for life were electric, magnifying, and contagious, and she was able to accomplish anything she set her mind to. The word "no" was not part of her vocabulary. Kathleen had an inquisitive mind and she loved figuring out how things worked and sharing that knowledge with others. Kathleen will be remembered for being adventurous, spontaneous, and so much fun. She was also the most amazing mom to her many beloved pets over the years.
Kathleen loved traveling and spending time between her homes in Door County, WI, Burlington, WI, and Key West, FL, making memories with her treasured family, friends, and pets. She was an avid gardener and had the most beautiful landscapes—a true labor of love. Growing up on the water, Kathleen loved to boat, swim, and fish, and she'd always make you stop for a moment to take in and appreciate a gorgeous sunset. She was happiest when she was outdoors.
Deeply rooted in her faith, Kathleen was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Twin Lakes, where she regularly attended Mass and offered a helping hand to parishioners by serving as a Eucharistic Minister. She displayed beautiful resilience and unwavering faith throughout her life until she was called home.
Kathleen will be dearly missed by the many people who love her. Kathleen's family would like to express our deepest appreciation to her medical team at Northwestern Hospital, Horizon Home Care & Hospice, and the amazing circle of family and friends who walked with her through every step of her fight. For all the love, prayers, and memories shared—we are eternally grateful.
Kathleen is survived by her siblings, Jack (Julie) Shaver, James (Patricia) Shaver, Nancy Wisowaty, and Michael (Sandra) Shaver. Further survived by many nieces and nephews whom she loved and mentored as if they were her own children, Amanda, JR, Ryan, Beth, Lynn, Adam, Nicole, Jonathon, Nicholas, Patrick, Christopher, Ryan, Jeffrey, Steven, Thomas, and Greg, along with their spouses. She also leaves behind many great nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly. Kathleen had many incredible friends and neighbors whom she regarded as family. She also leaves behind her sweet pup, Winston. In death, she is reunited with her beloved husband, Dale Snavely, who was the love of her life; parents, John Shaver and Anita Levesque; brother, David Shaver; grandparents, Edgar and Alice Levesque and John Elmer, Trevis, and Irene Shaver.
