Kyle L. Smith

Kyle L. Smith, 35, of Orlando, FL and formerly of Janesville, WI, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 7, 2026. He was born on October 11, 1990, in Orlando, FL, the son of Dwight and Julie (Rothering) Smith.

Kyle grew up a talented artist, a gift he carried with him throughout his life. After graduating from Craig High School with the Class of 2009, he followed his passion and became a tattoo artist, sharing his creativity and vision with others. He later enlisted in the United States Navy, where he earned the rank of PS1.

Kyle was a soft-spoken man who may have had few words but he was all heart. Kind, genuine, and quietly humorous, he had a way of making subtle jokes that brought smiles to everyone around him. To know him was to love him.

He found joy in life’s simple pleasures—fishing and ice fishing, skateboarding, and building Lego sets. Whether spending time outdoors or creating something with his hands, Kyle approached life with a quiet passion and authenticity that left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

Kyle is survived by his loving parents, Dwight and Julie Smith; grandparents: Diane (Larry) Camp, Bob (Marge) Rothering, David (Claudia) Smith, and Frances Smith; aunts and uncles: Dave Smith, Don Smith, Jenny (Tim) Fink, Emily (Andrew) Peterson, Adam (Michelle) Rothering, Michael Camp, and Michelle Young; along with many cousins and dear friends who will cherish his memory.

He was preceded in death by his cousin, Lindsay Kopas.

A Celebration of Life with Military Honors will be 12:00PM on Saturday, May 23 2026 at Haase-Lockwood & Assoc. Funeral Homes, 730 N. Wisconsin St. Elkhorn, WI. Visitation will be held from 10:00AM on Saturday until service time at the funeral home.
