Lila L. Svedin, age 97, of Poplar Grove, IL, passed away on Monday, August 19, 2024. She was born on December 4, 1926, and was united in marriage to her loving husband, Norman Svedin. Together they built a beautiful life and family. She loved and took pride in caring for their family farm. They enjoyed spending time with each other and going on long drives until his passing in 2015. Lila was a loving wife and mother who enjoyed seeing her family and having her grandkids around. In her free time, she also enjoyed doing any kind of craft projects, crocheting, knitting, reading and playing games with her friends. She is loved and will be deeply missed by her family.

Lila is survived by her children; Mary (Larry) Boehm, Barbara (Isidro) Perez and Steven (Debbie) Svedin, brother; Lorin Ellis, grandkids; Joshua (Kasey) Boehm, Jeremy Boehm, Jamie (Mikayla) Boehm, Brianna (Kevin) Sas-Perez, Marcos (Megan) Perez, Keila Perez, Cody Svedin and Conner Svedin and great grandchildren; Madey Boehm, Hunter Boehm, Everett Boehm and Luka Perez.

Lila is preceded in death by her husband; Norman Svedin, parents; Sylvia Ellis Richardson and Orie Ellis, stepfather; Clarence Richardson, son; Mark Svedin, brothers; Les and Edward Ellis and sister; Shirley Griffith.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at the Highland Garden of Memories Cemetery in the chapel, 9800 IL-76, Belvidere, IL 61008 at 11:30AM. A visitation will be held from 10:30AM until the time of service. Burial will immediately follow the service.
