Lorraine Mae Schildt Lane, age 97, died peacefully on Saturday March 23, 2024 at Golden Years in Walworth.  Lorraine was born on March 5, 1927; daughter of the late Kenneth and Irene (Walsh) Kyle.  Lorraine moved to the Lake Geneva area from Harvard, IL and has lived in the area for over 60 years.  Lorraine was a dedicated mother, grandmother and a friend to all she met.  Lorraine was a teacher for Traver school in Lake Geneva for 24 years, a job she loved!  In her free time, she was an avid quilter, a world traveler, and loved to watch golf.  Lorraine is survived by her children; Ronald (Linda) Schildt, Kathy (Jerry) Smith, Karen (Ray) Clapp; sisters; Marietta Voss, Rita Kyle; four grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and five great great grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her parents; first husband Alvin Schildt; second husband Ray Lane; brothers Bob Kyle, Lyle Kyle; sister; Joyce Walbrandt; and her beloved son; Gary Schildt.  A Memorial Mass will take place at St. Patrick's Catholic Church 107 W. Walworth Street Elkhorn, WI at 11:00AM on Friday April 12, 2024.  Visitation will take place before Mass beginning at 9:30AM. Upon Lorraine's request, a burial will be private and held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Lorraine's name to St. Patrick's Parish 107 W. Walworth Street Elkhorn, WI 53121, or to the Wounded Warrior Project 230 W.
