Luella L. Johnson, 98 of Elkhorn, WI, died on Monday, May 2, 2016 at Lakeland Health Care Center in Elkhorn, WI.  She was born on April 3, 1918 in Clearbrook MN. She was the daughter of the late Adolf and Johanna Knutson.  Luella attended Lutheran Bible Institute in Wittenburg, WI. After earning her degree in nursing she worked as a registered nurse at Lutheran Deaconess Hospital in Chicago, IL during WWII.  On November 30, 1946 she was united in marriage to Arnold L. Johnson in Chicago, IL.  Arnold died January 26, 2001.  Arnold and Luella farmed in the Elkhorn area for many years.  She was a devoted homemaker and a loving wife, mother and grandmother.  She belonged to the Sugar Creek Lutheran Church and was involved with the Ladies Aide, quilting group, sang in the choir, and taught Sunday school.  She is survived by her three children; Paul Johnson of Elkhorn, WI, Richard (Kay) Johnson of Vienna, IL and Mary (Mark) Winter of McFarland, WI, five grandchildren; Ryan Johnson of Walworth, WI, Sonya (Mike) Gilson of Carter, MT, Abby Johnson of Bloomington, IL, Krista (William) Kohls of Madison, WI and Meghan (James) Wolle of Eden Prairie, MN, six great-grandchildren; Travis, Aaron, Derek and Max Johnson, Keegan Wolle and Harper Kohls and by a host of other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Arnold, six sisters and one brother.

Funeral service 11:00 AM Monday May 9, 2016 at Sugar Creek Lutheran Church, N5690 Cobblestone Road Elkhorn, WI, with Pastor Dick Inglett officiating.  Visitation will be at the church from 9:30 AM until time of service.  Memorials may be made in Luella's name to: Sugar Creek Lutheran Church.  On-line guestbook is at www.haaselockwoodfhs.com.  Arrangements completed by Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home and Crematory of Elkhorn.
