Marcelynn Nona Grunseth; 96, of Franklin Street Elkhorn, WI died peacefully Saturday March 4, 2017 at Lakeland Health Care Center Elkhorn, WI.  She was born October 29, 1920 in Wausau, WI the daughter of the late Herbert F. and Esther L. (Schroeder) Scheide.  Nona attended and graduated from the University of Superior with a degree in education.  She was united in marriage to Frank W. Grunseth on April 6, 1944 in Milwaukee, WI.  Frank died November 25, 2004.   She taught kindergarten and primary grades.  Nona was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Elkhorn, where she taught Sunday school, was active with Mary's Circle and sang in the choir.  She volunteered at Lakeland Hospital, the Elkhorn Food Pantry, and the local Red Cross blood drives.  Nona was past president of the Elkhorn V.F.W. Auxiliary and dug the first shovel of dirt for the groundbreaking of the new V.F.W. Building.  For years, she worked the main gate at the Walworth County Fair selling tickets.  The most important part of her life was her family.  Nona was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  She is survived by her two sons; John (Annette) Grunseth of Green Bay, WI and James (Barbara) Grunseth of Elkhorn, WI, nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Frank, and her sister, Ardis Fischer.  Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Thursday March 9, 2017 at St. John's Lutheran Church, 104 South Broad Street, Elkhorn, WI with Rev. Tom DeGroot officiating.  Burial will be at Roselawn Memory Gardens in the Town of Delavan.  Visitation will be at the church on Thursday from 9:30 AM until time of service.  Memorials may be made in Nona's name to Elkhorn Food Pantry, 14 W.
