Margaret E. (Arnhoelter) Strassburg, age 86, passed away on Friday, May 22, 2020 at Lincolnshire Place Memory Care in Loves Park, IL.  She lived the last four years of her life in Loves Park, IL but was a longtime resident of Elkhorn, WI.  She was born October 27, 1933 in the town of Herman, WI, a daughter of the late Gustav and Elle (Griebe) Arnhoelter.  She grew up on a farm, attended rural county schools and graduated from Plymouth High School.  She was united in marriage to Harold Strassburg on June 25, 1955 and until his unexpected passing on September 25, 1992.  They moved to Elkhorn in 1957.  They enjoyed traveling, dancing to Big Band and Polka music, and attending WI Badger Football.  Margaret was a secretary for many years.  She was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church and she helped deliver Meals-On-Wheels.  She was also a long time bowler.  She enjoyed singing, being outdoors, her rose bushes, walking, was an avid reader, and loved dogs.

She is leaving behind and will be greatly missed by son Gary Strassburg of Elkhorn, WI; daughter Cheryl (Greg) Gurlik of Hartland, WI; son Scot (Pam) Strassburg of Rockford, IL; grandsons Dylan and Travis Gurlik of Hartland, WI; along with nieces, cousins and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Harold;  sister Gertrude Holling;  two brothers Robert and William and her parents Gustav and Elle Arnhoelter.

Private immediate family only service will be held at Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home and Crematory 730 N. Wisconsin Street Elkhorn, WI.  Public graveside service will be 2:30 PM Thursday May 28, 2020 at Hazel Ridge Cemetery, Elkhorn, WI.
