IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Margaret "Moe"
G. Dobkoski
September 21, 1946 – February 1, 2024
Margaret "Moe" G. Dobkoski age 77 of East Troy, WI.
Moe was born on September 21, 1946 in Eau Claire, WI; daughter of the late Robert and Miriam (Mack) Ganka. Her lifelong passion was education, nurturing countless young minds. While raising a young family, she earned her Bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin, Whitewater. She then taught in the Elkhorn Area School District for 24 years, achieving her Masters Plus along the way. Her career unfolded in the classrooms, hallways and playgrounds of West Side Elementary and Jackson Elementary schools. Whether you experienced her warm, caring smile, or her "redirecting teacher voice," her unwavering love and support for students and colleagues were evident. In 1997 she played a pivotal role as a founding participant and board member of the Teacher Restoration Corps - a volunteer group of educators and friends dedicated to restoring and preserving structures in our National Parks and Forests. She cherished the enduring friendships forged during her remarkable 26-year tenure on the board. Moe married David Dobkoski in Elkhorn, WI in 2001. Together, they wove a tapestry of memories - traveling the United States, exploring the outdoors, and gardening at home. You would most often find her enjoying a good book, tending to her flowers, and spending time with her grandchildren. Moe's lesson plan for a life well-lived is one that lives on in the hearts of those she touched. Her bright blue eyes and infectious laugh will be missed. Moe is survived by her husband; Dave; children; John (Stephanie) Svanda, Jean Kohley; step children; Andrew (Tracey) Dobkoski, Molly (Matt) Ness; grandchildren; Ben, Brielle, Kimberly, Kaylee, Kelly, Parker, Carter; step grandchildren; Olivia, Spencer; and siblings; Robert (Anne) Ganka, and Kate Hammer. She is preceded in death by her parents; sister; Mary Fran Winrich; and brother-in-law; Merlin Hammer.
