Elkhorn: Marvin Edwin Hahn; 83, of Elkhorn died peacefully Sunday April 27, 2014 at his residence. Marv was born July 25, 1930 in McHenry County IL the son of the late Perly A. and Minnie B. (Gors) Hahn. He spent his childhood on the family farm in Chemung Township, IL. He joined the U.S. Army in June of 1954 and he served a tour of duty in Korea, he was discharged in 1956. On June 5, 1957 he was united in marriage to the former Shirley A. Rebenstorf in Whitewater, WI. They made their home in rural Elkhorn. Marv was employed with the Walworth County Highway Department for over 26 years retiring in 1995. Marv and Shirley were members of several motorcycle groups, including the Wisconsin Southern Lakers, Badgerland Touring Club and the Gold Wing Association and he was also a lifetime member of American Motorcycle Association. They spent their leisure time touring the United States with these groups and enjoyed seeing the countryside with their friends. Marvin had a soft spot for animals, especially the farm cats and several dogs through the years, as companions. He is survived by his three sons; Duane (Shari) of Elkhorn, Jess (Veronica Prazza) of Elkhorn, and Donald of Madison, WI. Four grandchildren Nikki, Holly, Travis and Matthew and three great-grandchildren; Alexiz, Ally and Layla. His sister Doris (James) Watson of Elkhorn, WI. Several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 43 years, Shirley, and his brother Perly M. Hahn.
Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Saturday May 3, 2014 at Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home 730 N. Wisconsin ST. Elkhorn, WI with Rev. Charles Sweetman officiating. Burial will be at Roselawn Memory Gardens in the Town of Delavan, WI. Visitation will be Saturday at the funeral home from 9:00 AM until time of service.
