Mary T. Ellison (Wisniewski), 63 of Pell Lake, WI, passed away on Thursday, July, 23 2026 at Angels Grace Hospice in Oconomowoc, WI after battling uterine cancer since September 2024. Mary was born on November 27, 1962 in Chicago, IL to John and Rose Marie (Gniedziejko) Wisniewski.
Mary was a devout member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Lake Geneva, WI, and member of their church choir. Mary worked as a chiropractic receptionist where she was deeply invested in the patient’s wellbeing and formed lasting bonds over the years. She was also an avid cook and baker known by many for her precisely cut ingredients, taco dip, pasta salads and Rice Krispie treats. We are convinced the dishes she made are not able to be replicated because of the love that she used to make them with.
Mary is survived by her husband Danny; daughters Alicia (Brendon Sperandio) Ellison, and Marissa (Reed) Hinckley-Barnes; grandson Carmen; mother Rose Marie Wisniewski and siblings; Dennis (Donna) Wisniewski, Barb (Cliff) Hammarstrom, Cynthia Wisniewski, and sister-in-law Kathy Wisniewski. Mary is also survived by many, many nieces and nephews and their families.
Mary joins her father John and brother Michael who preceded her in death.
In lieu of flowers, Mary has requested donations be made in her name to the St. Francis de Sales School Angel fund.
In life, Mary was known for helping others, and that legacy continues through a final, selfless gift of whole-body donation to the Medical College of Wisconsin. She hopes her donation will further the education of future providers, much like that of all those who took part in her journey with uterine cancer. Mary was so grateful and blessed.
Thank you to Dr. Sofia Gabrilovich for her genuine care and guidance throughout Mary's entire cancer journey. Thank you to all the staff at Froedtert’s Pavilion that cared for her over the last 3 months including the GYN/ONC care team, the 4th floor RNs and CNAs, PT and OT and all the Services teams. Special thanks to Sarah Wheeler for listening and providing comfort while still honoring Mary’s values. Additional thanks to all at Froedtert Bluemound Rehab for pushing her, walking with her and believing in her progress. Lastly, thank you to the staff at Angels Grace Hospice for their care and compassion while keeping her comfortable in her final days.
