Obituary

Mary Ruth Simons, 90; Scottsdale, AZ formerly of Elkhorn, WI died Sunday April 26, 2015 at Brookdale North Scottsdale, Scottsdale, AZ.  Mary was born July 27, 1924 in Beloit, WI the last of twelve children born to the late David Reed and Stella Irene (Burns) Mullikin.  Mary attended Whitewater Teacher's College Whitewater, WI.  She was united in marriage to Ronald Arthur Simons at the First United Methodist Church of Elkhorn, WI on June 11, 1949.  Mary worked as a secretary for many years with the Bank of America Hollywood, CA, United Milk of Elkhorn, Morrissy Law Office of Elkhorn, Harris Hardware of Elkhorn, and Walworth County Register of Deeds.  She enjoyed her dogs, traveling and being around people, but her greatest enjoyment was her family, she was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be deeply missed.  She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Ron, Four children: Barbara (Henry) Gutmann of Brookfield, WI, James "Jim" Simons of Charlottesville, VA, Randolph "Randy" (Deborah) Simons of Phoenix, AZ and Gloria (James "Jay") Simons-Kriske of Cave Creek, AZ.  Three grandchildren: Amanda (Phil) Rumpf of Jackson, WI, Matthew Gutmann of Brookfield, WI and Ashley (Mike) Crouch of Lynchburg, VA.  Five great-grandchildren: Twins Mason and Christopher and Bennet Rumpf, Kalie and Aubrie Crouch.  She is further survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.  Mary was preceded in death by her seven sisters and four brothers.  Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Tuesday May 12, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church of Elkhorn 111 N. Broad Street Elkhorn, WI with Rev. Dr. Lamar Gibson officiating.  Burial will be at Eastlawn Cemetery Beloit, WI.  Visitation will be 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday at Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Homes and Crematory 730 N. Wisconsin Street Elkhorn, WI and after 10:00 AM Tuesday at the church.  Memorials may be made in Mary's name to the church or the animal shelter of your choice.  On-line guestbook is at www.haaselockwoodfhs.com.
