Melinda "Linda" Rose Berkompas, age 78, of Elkhorn passed away peacefully on November 28th 2023.

Linda was born on January 30th, 1945 in Chicago, IL, the fourth of five children, to Grace and Karl Lee.

Linda was a devoted and loving, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. On August, 20th 1984

she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Terry Berkompas.

Linda attended Lake Geneva Area High School and went on to work at an immense number of jobs.

Including but not only as, a Chef at the Lake Geneva Country Club, she worked in the meat department

at Franks county Market, and most importantly as a great companion to her husband Terry as over-the-

road truckers. Linda was loved by many. In the words of her family, she was the definition of

"unconditional love," she welcomed every and anyone with open arms. She was a resilient woman as

her life was not always the easiest, but she pushed through and raised five children alone until blending

families with Terry. Linda was a great confidant with the greatest sense of humor.

She enjoyed going to dinner with her friends, listening to Terry play music, bird watching, watching

game shows, playing words with friends, and her comfy chair. Linda's favorite thing in life was spending

time with family and her dog Rosie. Her family is thankful to have spent Thanksgiving 2023 with her.

Linda's great granddaughter was named after her, with the middle name of Rose. That brought so much

joy to her, as she referred to great granddaughter as "her baby".

She is survived by her devoted husband; Terry, her loving children; Juli Wilson, Tish (Paul Connolly), Cole

(Nadine Bushey), Dona (David Mann), Bret (Vicki Bushey), Rhea Lynn Stewart, Dustine Walker, Terry Lee

(Jennifer Berkompas), her siblings Karen (Ellis York) and Mike Lee, sister-in-law; Margret Lee, fifteen

grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers: Jack and Bill Lee, her mother-in-law Ruth

Berkompas, her son-in-law Rod Wilson, and her grandson Justin Yoss.

No service will be held at this time. A celebration of life is being planned for spring of 2024 when all

family can be in attendance. Linda had one hell of a last ride and will be missed by many!
