Michael J. Adler age 64 of Walworth, WI died Friday morning November 27, 2015 at his home.
Michael Joseph Adler was born on September 9, 1951 in Burlington, Wisconsin the son of Joseph S. and Doris Mae Wrase. On January 3, 1976 in Genoa City, WI, Michael was united in marriage to Laurie Hopkins. Laurie preceded him in death on March 9, 1979. On August 16, 1980 in Woodstock, IL, Michael was united in marriage to Deborah Bushert. They lived in Genoa City and moved to New Braunfels, TX in 1981 and then to Walworth in 1989.
Michael graduated from Badger High School in Lake Geneva in the Class of 1969. Following High school, he served in the United States Marine Corps from October 29, 1970 until discharge on September 1, 1972. He worked as a mason for TAG Masonry for many years and then as a maintenance man for Big Foot High School.
Michael was a former member of the Genoa City Fire Dept. and Rescue Squad. He was a member of the National Rifle Assoc.. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He also enjoyed woodworking, doing hand carved signs and making furniture.
Michael is survived by: His wife Deborah; 3 daughters-Katherine Adler of Elkhorn, WI, Jessica (Bruce) Hellenbrand of Waunakee, WI and Jaci Rohner of Lake Geneva, WI; 7 grandchildren-Howard, Chuckie, Joelle, Jordyn, Taylor, Hayden and Lucy; his mother Doris Adler of Walworth, WI; 3 sisters-Susan (Tom) Gibbons of Rockford, IL, Debbie (Steve) Adrian of West Cliffe, CO and Nancy Adler of Salida, CO
Michael was preceded in death by his father-Joseph S. Adler on December 7, 1979.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00PM Wednesday Dec. 2, 2015 at the Haase-Lockwood & Assoc. Funeral Home, 113 Freeman St. Genoa City, WI. Interment with Military Honors will be held at Cobblestone Cemetery, Walworth, WI. The Adler Family will receive friends from 10:00AM until the time of services at the Funeral Home. A celebration of Mike's Life will be held from 2:00PM until 5:00PM at the Wiliams Bay AmericanLegion (Lions Fieldhouse). Memorial remembrances may be made to the National Rifle Assoc. of America 11250 Waples Rd. Fairfax, VA 22030.
