IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Michael R.
Demske
July 3, 1953 – July 9, 2025
Michael Robert Demske passed away at Aurora Lakeland Medical Center on July 9, 2025. Family and friends thank the ambulance transport team, Aurora healthcare staff and Hospice for special care during Mike's final days. He was greatly comforted by all who shared their concerns.
Michael was the second child born to Nellie Tucker Demske and Robert Demske. Nellie was restricted to bedrest weeks prior to his birth on July 3, 1953 in Berwyn hospital Chicago IL. The family lived in the Austin District enjoying the benefits of a large, extended family of grandparents, uncles, aunts and cousins. The Demske-Tucker reunions were an annual event for decades. Every occasion featured an extravagant Italian feast.
Mike was beginning 8th grade when his parents and Marc moved to Wisconsin permanently. His father continued employment at Chicago Transit Authority, traveling to WI for weekends. Mike greatly appreciated his neighborhood on Lake Wandawega. Hunting was one of his favorite hobbies which he carried into adulthood. The friends from previous summer vacations soon became classmates and lifelong relationships.
Michael graduated Elkhorn Area High School in 1971; followed by a semester at UW-Whitewater. His employment would include* working at O'Hare airport with steamfitter union under the tarmac. *Traveling the US repairing stained glass windows at historic churches would become a specialty. *Terry Hunt and Mike had a business building patio decks in NW suburbs of Chicago. *Being a stagehand at Alpine Music Theatre offered many experiences of mixing with musical greats. * For over 10 years, Mike was a dedicated ready-mix truck driver for Alby Material (SuperMix) in the SE region of Wisconsin.
Mike always had a colossal love of dogs: Saint, Dylan, Doofus, Ginny, Lloyd to name a few companions over the years. He adopted many neighbor's dogs for daily routine and/or extended house sitting in Silver Lake area. "Uncle Biscuit" many call him.
As Mike's sister-in-law, I hugely appreciate his generous spirit. (also dog sitter for my 2 dogs!) I enjoy the Demske family legacy in more ways than I can count. Mike will be greatly missed.
Michael is preceded in death by: father Robert, mother Nellie, brother Marc. Survived by: Jeane Northey, Steven Knight, Robert Beets, Sara Kasper, Neil Kasper, Bobby Kasper, Riley Kasper.
Please consider any gift to an animal shelter of your choice.
