Michelle "Mickie" Verran, 65, of Salem Lakes, WI., was a beacon of light and warmth whose presence profoundly shaped the lives of everyone she met. Born on July 24th, 1960, in Chicago, she spent her years cultivating a life defined by radical generosity and an unwavering commitment to those she held dear.
Mickie’s heart was an open door. She possessed a rare, instinctive kindness; she didn't just notice when someone was in need—she acted. Whether offering a listening ear, a helping hand, or the shirt off her back, she gave without expectation, driven by a soul that was truly kind and giving.
Her greatest masterpiece was her family. To Mickie, family was not just a priority; it was her world. She shared a legendary bond with her husband, the love of her life Edward Verran, and found her greatest joys in the laughter of her children and the bright eyes of her grandchildren. As a mother and grandmother, she was a fierce protector and a constant source of encouragement, leaving an indelible mark on the generations that follow her.
To her friends, Mickie was a sanctuary. She was a confidante who offered an endless wealth of wisdom and a safe harbor of total acceptance. Those who knew her best will fondly remember the "slight dash of tartness" that flavored her personality—a quick wit and a refreshingly honest perspective that made her company as spirited as it was comforting.
Though the world feels smaller and quieter without her, Mickie’s spirit is not gone. It lives on in every act of kindness performed by those she inspired and in the solid, enduring love she planted deep within the hearts of her family and friends.
Mickie is survived by her wonderful husband, Edward Verran, their children; Christine (Robert) Majka, Kyle (Lisa) Verran, Conner (Katelyn) Verran, and Kameron (Abigail) Verran. Mickie is also survived by her siblings; Ronald Kapp, William (Sarah) Kapp, Donald (JoAnne) Kapp, and Janet (Dan) Kaluba. Mickie is further survived by her grandchildren; Audrey, Vincent, Shan, Darius, Jayceon, Phoenix, and Freya.
Mickie is preceded in death by her aunts, Nancy, and Joan, her uncle Ken, both Annette, and Bob Peters.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date for Mickie. Haase-Lockwood & Associates are proud to have served the Verran family.
