IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Minda Peralta
Austria
February 3, 2024
Minda Peralta Austria, our beloved sister, Tita, Ninang, Grandma, and friend, passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center in Milwaukee, WI. She brought joy and warmth to everyone she met. In 1964, Minda was honored with the title of Miss Agno Valley, showcasing her grace and charm from an early age.
Minda earned her Bachelor of Science in Commerce with a focus on Finance from the University of the East in 1970. She embarked on a journey filled with love and adventure when she married Salcedo (Ed) P. Austria on November 28, 1979. Together, they built a life in Chicago, IL, where they found joy in spending time with family, friends, and sharing their passion for sports, particularly cheering on the Chicago Bulls and White Sox.
After the loss of her beloved husband in 2008, Minda found solace in traveling to the Philippines and embracing new experiences. She dedicated many years of her life to her career, retiring as a Team Coordinator with La Salle Bank, now Bank of America, in 2012.
Transitioning to her next chapter, Minda moved to Genoa City, WI, where she embraced her role as Grandma/Ninang with love and enthusiasm. She had a penchant for Starbucks Grande Decaf Mocha with skim milk and delighted in watching movies, particularly those starring Keanu Reeves.
Minda will be fondly remembered for her caring nature, boundless love, generosity, and gentle spirit. Her infectious smile could light up any room, and her presence brought comfort to all who knew her.
Minda is survived by her loving siblings: Mila Peralta Calixtro (Elmidencio "Ed"), Teresita Peralta Manogura (Dante), Alejandro Peralta (Edna), Alma Cristina Peralta Edades (Roel), and Annabelle Peralta de Guzman (Alfredo).
She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and their children, whom lovingly call her Grandma Minda or Lola Minda.
Minda was preceded in death by her husband, Salcedo "Ed" Austria; her parents, Loreto Peralta and Severina Binaday Peralta; and her siblings: Linda Peralta Cariaga (Artemio), Fernando Peralta, and Armi Peralta.
