Nancy Cayo

Nancy N Cayo age 91 of Salem Lakes, WI died June 22, 2026. She was born in Nashville, IL. on August 7, 1934. The daughter of the late Richard and Pauline Pate. On June 11, 1955, in Kenosha, WI she was united in marriage to Philip Cayo who preceded her in death on June 14, 2020. She worked for many years at Riverview Elementary as a School Teacher. She was a member of the Business and Professional Women's Organization.

Nancy was a prominent member of the community. During her career as an educator, she taught hundreds of children. Wherever she went she was recognized and greeted with a “Hello, Mrs. Cayo. How are you!” and she remembered every single person. Everyone knew and admired her. She was active in her church community leading the Sunday school and summer bible school program for many years. Nancy was a great role model and caring mom to her three children. Nancy’s circle of friends through the years kept her busy and involved as they formed book clubs, the Red Hats club and meeting regularly for lunch. Some of her favorite pastimes were reading, golfing and doing needlepointing. She was a devoted Granny to her grandchildren supporting them in numerous ways including attending their sporting events and even traveling to watch dance competitions.

Survived by her children: Carolyn Fraher, Marilyn Cayo (Robert Schutt), and William Cayo (Kristin). Grandmother to Colin Fraher, Cory (Kendra) Fraher, Sophie Cayo and Ethan Cayo. Great Grandmother to Emerson and Brynn. Further survived by her brother-in-law Patrick (Marilee) Cayo and sister-in-law Kathleen (James) Swartz. Special friends to Bill (Kitty) Ewald and Al Bryner. Numerous nieces and nephews survive her also. She was preceded in death by her sister-in-law Claire Jasinski.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday August 14 at 4:00PM at the Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home 620 Legin Dr. Twin Lakes, WI. Visitation will be held from 2:00PM until the time of services. The Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home and Crematory of Twin Lakes, WI is honored to serve the Cayo family.
