Nicholas "Wayne" Dreyer

March 14, 1952 — April 10, 2026

Silver Lake, WI

Nicholas Wayne “Wayne” Dreyer, age 74, of Silver Lake, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2026. Wayne was born March 14, 1952, in Chicago, Illinois, at Cook County Hospital to Wilda and Fred Dreyer. He built a life centered around family, friendship, hard work, and the simple joys that meant the most to him. Wayne was lovingly raised by his brother and sister-in-law, Warner and Betty Jones, who were like parents to him throughout his life.

On March 6, 1973, Wayne married the love of his life, Debbie Dreyer, beginning a partnership that spanned decades and created a strong and loving family. Together they raised four children: Darrell Dreyer, Billie (Ron) Olson, Nicole Long, and Elizabeth Dreyer.

Wayne was a proud and devoted grandfather to Michael Dreyer, Madison Dreyer, Ashlee Olson, Nicholas (Mariah) Olson, Oliver Olson, Haven Hill, Jack Hill, Serenity Hill, Charlie Hill, and Maxwell Ries, and a great-grandfather to Gannon Olson, Dazey Hill, Cruz Hill, Hardin Olson and Madeleine Sirota. Nothing brought him more joy than time spent surrounded by his growing family.

He is also survived by his loving sisters, Donna Wittrock; Denise Jones; Terry and Steve Steece; Vicki and Dale Lawrence. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Warner Jones and Warner Jones Jr. Wayne also leaves behind many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever hold his memory close to their hearts.

Wayne worked as a mechanic and was truly happiest with a wrench in his hand. He had a lifelong love of motorcycles, fast cars, rock ‘n’ roll and outlaw country, and could often be found in his garage with the door open, music playing, ready to lend a hand to anyone who needed help. He was the kind of person who never hesitated to fix, tinker, or teach, especially if it meant spending time with someone he cared about.

He cherished the North Woods and the cabin where he created countless memories with his children, grandchildren, and friends. Whether it was a quiet morning, a busy day outdoors, or an evening filled with laughter, those moments meant everything to him.

Wayne was known for his humor, his storytelling, and his ability to fill a room with warmth and laughter. There was never a dull moment when he was around. He loved deeply, gave generously, and made everyone feel welcome especially alongside his beloved dogs, Rebel and Marley, who were always close by.

Wayne will be remembered for his big heart, helping hands, and the countless memories he leaves behind in the lives of those who loved him.
