Officer Richard Anthony Thayer age 43 of Antioch, IL left us peacefully on May 10, 2024, after a courageous 3-year battle with Metastatic Melanoma.  He was born on August 12, 1980.  The son of John Thayer and Theresa Tognetti.   On May 31, 2023, he was united in marriage to Heather Schultz in Curacao.  Rick loved exploring and going on adventures with Heather especially their family shooting outings.  February 2020 Rick was sworn in as a Twin Lakes, WI Police Officer where he was currently serving the community and previously served with the Crossville Police Department in Tennessee.

Survived by his wife Heather.  Son of John Thayer and Theresa Tognetti.  Brother to Jason (Katie) Thayer and Angela Hills (Eric).   Son-in-Law of Richard and Anna Schultz and Brother-in-Law to Chris Schultz.  He is further survived by their horse, Sarge and their two dogs Sadie and Magnus.

A Law Enforcement Service which the public is invited to will be held on Saturday May 18, 2024, at 5:00PM at Randall School Gymnasium 37101 87Th St. Visitation will be from 3:00PM until time of services.   Memorials may be made to Twin Lakes PD Memorial Fund   PO Box 549 Twin Lakes, WI. 53181.  The Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home and Crematory of Twin Lakes, WI is honored to serve Officer Thayer's family.
