Patrick Helfenbein, M.D., passed away on May 24, 2025, at Aurora Burlington Hospital after a two year battle with cancer.

Patrick was born March 27, 1958.  He grew up in Chicago, IL and eventually retired in Elkhorn, WI.

Patrick was a dedicated and beloved psychiatrist for over 30 years working primarily in Vincennes, IN. His interests were in history, politics, pets, and fishing.

Patrick is survived by his wife, Ann (Evans) Helfenbein, son, Patrick Helfenbein, daughter, Sharon Helfenbein, siblings. Mary (Mike) O'Malley, Mike (Linda) Helfenbein, Dan (Debbie) Helfenbein, and many nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Eileen and Dick Helfenbein.

A visitation will be held 11:30AM to 1:30PM on Friday, May 30, 2025, at Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Homes, 730 N. Wisconsin St. Elkhorn, WI.  Funeral Mass will be 2:00PM on Friday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 107 W. Walworth St. Elkhorn, WI.  Interment will follow services at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Elkhorn.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Elkhorn Area High School Scholarship in Memory of Patrick Helfenbein, 482 E.
