Obituary

Paul E. Voss, 87 of Elkhorn, WI died Tuesday November 1, 2022 at East Troy Manor, in East Troy, WI.  He was born November 8, 1934, in Elkhorn, WI, the son of the late Donald and Virginia (Cooper) Voss.  Paul graduated from Thorton High School in Thorton, IL, then went onto to Carthage College, and the University of St. Louis.  He served in the United States Army.  Paul was united in marriage to former Jacquelyn Thompson on June 16, 1961. She preceded him in death on February 2, 2014.  He taught for a time at Morton East High School in Cicero, IL. He worked as research chemist for AKZO Nobel in McCook, IL for over 25 years  retireing in 1992.  Paul enjoyed gardening, cooking, stamp and coin collecting.  He had a love of working with harness race horses.  Paul was an avid sports fan and rooting for the Chicago Bears and White Sox.  He also enjoyed traveling throughout his life.  Paul was a husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Paul is survived by his five children: Virginia Hegarty of West Chester, IL, Carol Voss of La Grange Park, IL, Daniel Voss of La Grange Park, IL, Laura (James) Bemus of Elkhorn, WI and Donald Voss of Lake Geneva, WI, five grandchildren: Justin Voss, Tyler Bemus, Ryan Hegarty, Shannon (Robert) Hegarty-Weiner and Natalie Voss, and four great-grandchildren: Lindsey, Parker, Belle and Addison.  He was preceded in death by his parents, beloved wife of 52 years, Jacquelyn Voss, his brother, Donald Voss and his sister, Jean Bane.
