Philip H Bjerning age 82 of Grayslake, IL passed away on March 11, 2025.  He was born on May 30, 1942 in Burlington, WI, and grew up in Genoa City WI. The son of the late Harold and Helen (Harrison) Bjerning.   On June 11, 1983, he was united in marriage to Bonnie Schiller.  Philip served in the United States Navy from 1960 - 63.   He was the owner of Industrial Oven Specialist in Genoa City, Wi for many years.

During his life he was a member of the Genoa City Lions Club and served the UCC Church of Grayslake on mission trips to Mississippi and Kentucky.  In his early years he was Cub Master for the Genoa City Cub Scouts.  He enjoyed woodworking and collecting antique wood planers.  Philip used to race cars at the Lake Geneva Racetrack and on the Ice at the Pink House in Twin Lakes.  He was passionate about Corvette's and anything mechanical.

He is survived by his wife Bonnie. Loving Father to Peter (Kim) Bjerning, Patrick (Dawn) Bjerning, Paul (Annette) Bjerning, the late Thomas Meehan and Catherine (John) Komaromy. Grandfather of 11 and Great Grandfather of 2.  Brother to the late Lynne Mecklenberg, Harriet Uhl and Dale (Mary) Bjerning.   Brother-in-law to Skip Mecklenberg.

Funeral Service will be held on Monday March 17, 2025, at 11:00AM at Faith First UCC Church of Genoa City 624 Park St.  Genoa City, WI.  53128.  Burial with Military Honors to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Richmond, IL.   Visitation will be held on Sunday March 16, 2025, from 4:00PM until 8:00PM at the Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home 113 Freeman St.  Genoa City, WI.  Visitation will also take place on Monday from 10:00AM until the time of services at the church.   Memorials in his name may be made to Mundelein Fire Department Memorial Equipment Fund 1000 N Midlothian Rd.  Mundelein, IL. 60060.
