As a child Phyllis and her brother and sister enjoyed swimming at Riis Park in Chicago. They loved the movies and ran to the theater with their mom to get in for the 5-cent matinee. As an adult she continued swimming at the YMCA with her sister and friends and had a pool at home for many years. Music was a lifelong passion for Phyllis. After retirement, she took organ classes. As a group the classes would perform at nursing homes, malls and other places that were interested. Eating out with the girls after swimming, organ classes or shopping was a favorite pastime. While taking classes she found that she had a talent for watercolor painting. Phyllis enjoyed spending time playing with their grandsons.
