Obituary

It breaks our hearts to share that Randy Bruce Scott (age 73) passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday November 29th after a battle with cancer. Please join his family for a visitation on Saturday January 6th from 11am-1pm at Haase-Lockwood Funeral Home in Elkhorn with a memorial ceremony to follow.

Randy grew up in Delavan with his parents (Warren and Lydia) and four brothers. He graduated in 1968 from Delavan-Darien High School. After high school, he proudly served our country on the front-line in Vietnam with the US Army. Randy was humble and you would have never known that he received multiple medals and awards from the US Army. Highlights included 2 Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star Medal with V for Valor. Upon coming home, he graduated with his Small Engine Associate Degree from Gateway Technical College.

In November 1970, Randy married his high school sweetheart, Kathleen. They lived together for over 53 years in Elkhorn and enjoyed every moment of their farm-life. Randy with his father-in-law built the stalls in the barn that housed a variety of animals through the years - horses, goats, pigs, rabbits, sheep, dogs, cats and most recently their chickens that provided farm fresh eggs.

Randy worked for over 20 years as a CNC Programming Operator at Waukesha Cherry-Burrell in Delavan, WI. He "retired" early to begin his second career with his wife, Kathleen who had started a corporate cleaning business. At KAS Custom Cleaning, he was the manager leading the team who cleaned Kikkoman Foods in Walworth, WI.

Whether it was fixing things or meticulously taking care of his 14-acre farm and yard, his hardworking attitude was always apparent. He was kindhearted, humble and proud of his kids and grandkids. Kathleen and Randy had 3 children, Trisha (Tim), Tracey (Jim) and Travis (Aschley) and were also blessed with 8 grandchildren (Tucker, Capri, Mac, Calia, Josef, Sarah, Declan and Penelope).

Randy loved watching his grandkids do what they loved; whether it was sports, gaming, arts, playing or romping around on the farm toys, he was beaming. He was always taking pictures of them and sharing them so they could pick out the ones they loved most! He loved to putz around the farm and yard and enjoyed woodworking. He was so proud to be "papa" and was most often seen wearing a "papa" hat, t-shirt or sweatshirt! He was always making us laugh and the grandkids loved to tease him about being "sneaky papa" – as he was always trying to get away with something!

Randy loved his motorcycles and loved riding with Kathleen, his kids, grandkids and close friends and family. He would stop along the rides to take pictures and just enjoy the ride! He also enjoyed being outside, whether he was fishing and hunting with friends, watching deer or birds, or doing something in the yard, garage or barn. He loved going out for breakfast and eating ice cream! Randy loved to chat with anyone about anything! He also loved his black truck and all of his kids learned from him how to change the oil and how important it is to fill your car with gas when it gets to ¼ of a tank!

Randy's favorite moments were - anything related to the Wisconsin Badgers. He especially loved sharing his season tickets to the Football games where he attended multiple games each season with family and friends for over 20 years. When he couldn't watch the Badgers live, he was watching on them on his phone and texting – GO BADGERS! When it comes to NFL, Randy has always loved the Denver Broncos, and he was so sweet about all the NFL teams that his family loved (Packers, Chargers, Cowboys, Lions, Dolphins, Bengals & Steelers)! The grandkids will always treasure their NFL texts that they would get from papa each week, as he connected with them personally on their favorite NFL teams – no matter if they won or lost!

We all miss Randy so very much! He will always hold a special place in our hearts and we will try to carry on his legacy of hard work and humbleness!

He is survived by his wife; Kathleen Scott, three children; Trisha Hanson, Tracey Scott and Travis Scott, four brothers; Michael, Peter, Timothy and Mark Scott, and his eight grandchildren; Tucker, Capri, Mac, Calia, Josef, Sarah, Declan and Penelope.

He is preceded in death by his parents.
