Raymond “Ray” L. Cucchi age 98 formerly of Elkhorn, WI died on August 22, 2026, in Libertyville, IL surrounded by his loving family. Ray was born on February 5, 1928, son of the late Dominic and Mary (Battagliotti) Cucchi. Ray was united in marriage to Lorraine M. Wilcek in Chicago, IL on June 12, 1954. Together they raised their family and created a lifetime of memories together until the time of her passing in 2010.

Ray served for two years in the infantry as an Army sergeant in the Korean War. Ray was also a 3rd degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus and was the oldest member of his chapter. He spent his career with the R.R. Donnelley & Sons Company in Chicago, IL. He held several positions in his 45 year tenure and was well liked by all he worked with. In his spare time, Ray loved to play golf. According to him, golf was the greatest sport ever created! He also loved watching sports, mainly football and baseball. He was an avid Cubs and Bears fan. Ray was a very social person, very involved in his church, and loved to sing in the church choir. His family meant the world to him, and he had so much love to give. He would often say, “I’ve lived a great life, and I had a lot of fun!”

Ray is survived by his children; Lynn (Larry) Perrone, Mary (Greg Grunewald) Cucchi, Patty (Jay Frank) Koziol, Bob (Karen) Cucchi, Jon (Mary) Cucchi; grandchildren; Rob (Jessica Carpin) Cucchi, Tracy (Ted) Jorgensen, Michael (Jill) Cucchi, Adam Cucchi, Mark (Tara) Hummel, Luke (Kristen) Cucchi, Matthew (Tatiana Salazar) Cucchi, Scott (Grace), Lisa (Colin) Ruska, Dominic Perrone; 20 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild; and one brother; Joseph Cucchi. Ray is preceded in death by his wife; parents; sisters; Olga (Charlie) Chereso, Ermalinda Magnusson, Virginia Cucchi; and sister-in-law; Shirley Cucchi.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church 107 W. Walworth Street Elkhorn, WI on Saturday November 14, 2026, at 11:00AM. Visitation will take place before Mass beginning at 9:00AM. In a private family ceremony, Ray will be laid to rest at Southern Wisconsin Veteran’s Cemetery in Union Grove on Monday, November 16. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to St Jude 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
