Raymond J. Ritter, 89 of Delavan, WI formerly of Chicago, IL, passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at Holton Manor in Elkhorn, WI. He was born June 19, 1933 in Chicago, IL, the son of late Henry and Bertha (Kruse) Ritter. Raymond served in the United States Army. He was united in marriage to June C. Carlson on August 22, 1953 in Augusta, GA. Ray was a generous and thoughtful man who loved his family and friends dearly. Ray was a skilled tile setter. He loved to help whenever someone had a project. Ray always saw the beauty in craftsmanship. He was a boy scout leader in his younger years. Ray enjoyed listening to music especially Country and Lawrence Welk. Ray was an avid Chicago Bears fan and attended the 1963 NFL Championship game against the New York Giants. He enjoyed traveling throughout his life and visited all 50 states. Ray traveled to Europe three times, loved to go on cruises and go up north in Wisconsin snowmobiling. Ray was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
Ray is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, June, three children: Deborah (Rocco Thomas) DeCristofaro, Steven (Ann) Ritter and Raymond (Maria) Ritter Jr, seven grandchildren: Daniel (BZ), Kimberly (Rob), Carly (Albert), Steven Jr., Emily, Rebecca and Samantha and seven great-grandchildren: Daniel Jr., Nicholas, Roselyn, Jacob, Elaina, Adela and Tomas. He was preceded in death by his parents, three siblings, LaVern, infant brother, Henry and Betty.
A Celebration of Raymond's Life will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at the Salvation Army, 8354 W. Foster Ave. Norridge, IL 60706. Online guest book at www.haaselockwoodfhs.com. Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Homes and Crematory completed arrangements for the Ritter Family.
