Richard Eugene Border (Dick, Shorty, PeeWee), 89, passed away peacefully on October 19th, 2023, at his home in, Elkhorn, Wisconsin. He was born August 30, 1934, in Elkhorn, Wisconsin to Ellis and Olive Border. He grew up in Elkhorn and attended Elkhorn High School, graduating in 1952. He married Jeneil M. Champeny in Lake Geneva, WI on September 11, 1955. The celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary this year.

He served on town committees of both Hebron, Illinois and Avon, Wisconsin.  He enjoyed working on old tractors, competing in the tractor pulls at the Walworth County fair and the antique tractor rides.

Surviving is his wife, Jeneil Border, children, Richard A (Judy) Border, Ellis (Esther) Border, Debora (Jeff) Arnold, George (Debra) Border, Jeffery (Jenny) Border, 6 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren, along with multiple nieces, nephews.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Dairl, sister Frances (Gail) Meyer and brothers, Keith and Earl.

A memorial service will be 2:00PM on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at Hebron United Methodist Church in Hebron, IL.
