Richard “Dick” J. Golly age 81 of Elkhorn, WI died at home on Sunday March 1, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Dick was born in Chicago, IL on August 15, 1944; son of the late Ollie and Alice (Finn) Golly. Dick was united in marriage to Carol L. Bransky at St. Patrick’s Catholic Parish in Elkhorn, WI on April 24, 1965. Dick and Carol raised their family together in Elkhorn, WI and shared a lifetime of love and cherished memories. Dick had a love for the outdoors; fishing on Lake Michigan, camping, and hunting; and when at home, he could be found tending to his garden. In his earlier years, he was a Cub Scout leader, served on the Elkhorn Rescue Squad for 25 years, and served as the President of Lakeland Industrial Safety Counsel. Dick enjoyed traveling with Carol, they had a time share in Florida for some time and enjoyed taking cruises as well. One of Dick’s fondest memories is a ride he was able to take with his son on the Battleship Missouri from Hawaii to Long Beach, CA to be surprised by the rest of his family awaiting their arrival in Long Beach.
Dick is survived by his children; Christine (Robert) Caliendo, Mark (Liz) Golly; grandchildren; Michael (Ashley) Caliendo, Alyssa (Grant Piske) Caliendo, Katelyn (Tommy) Taylor, Bailey Golly, John Golly; one great grandchild; Sadie Taylor; and sisters; Jan Anderson, and Joan (Jack) Trueblood. Dick was joined in eternal life with his loving wife Carol, who passed two months after him. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister; Florence Campbell; brother-in-law’s; Russ Campbell and Trevor Anderson.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for both Dick and Carol on Wednesday May 13, 2026, at 11:00am at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church 107 W. Walworth Street Elkhorn, WI. Visitation will be held before the Mass beginning at 9:00am. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to ASPCA PO Box 96929 Washington, DC 20090-6929.
