Richard "Dick" Henry Conklin
February 12, 1983 January 2, 2019
After six long years of waiting, the family of Richard "Dick" Conklin will finally be able to lay him to rest. Born on February 12, 1983 to Elizabeth Robertson and Donald Conklin, Dick grew up in South Milwaukee and graduated with the Class of 2001.
Richard's smile could light up any room, and his kind, easygoing nature made him a friend to everyone he met. He had a deep love for all things Irish and green, a reflection of his warm spirit, humor, and love of life.
He was a loving father to Jeremiah Conklin and a caring brother to Amanda (Chris) Senne. He shared a special bond with his cousin Eric Wilke, and is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins and friends who will forever hold him close in their hearts.
He was preceded in death by his Nana Lucille Mielke, his Grandma Conklin, and his dear cousin Albert Wilke.
Though his life was taken far too soon on January 2, 2019, Richard's light continues to shine through the people who loved him most. As he once reminded us through his favorite words,
"Nothing's ever promised tomorrow today."
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the Franklin Police Department and the Walworth County Medical Examiner's Office for their dedication, compassion, and persistence throughout this difficult journey.
