Obituary
Richard L. "Rick" Ecklund, Sr. age 61 of Genoa City, WI died Monday evening January 26, 2015 at the Aurora Lakeland Medical Center in Elkhorn, WI.
Richard Lee Ecklund was born on August 27, 1953 in Chicago, IL, the son of the late Clifford F. and Belle Domino Ecklund. He moved from Chicago to Genoa City in 1970. On May 28, 1977 at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Genoa City, Rick was united in marriage to Donna L. Siedschlag.
Rick formerly worked for the Ecklund Delivery Service in Genoa City and Chicago. He then worked as a custodian and groundskeeper for Badger High School in Lake Geneva for 15 years. Rick was very active in youth programs where he coached basketball and baseball at Brookwood School in Genoa City and Badger High School. He was very involved in the Genoa City Recreation Program. He enjoyed playing softball, fishing, hunting and playing cards. He loved spending time with his family and friends.
Rick is survived by: His wife-Donna; 1 daughter-Jill (Bret) Braden of Genoa City, WI; 3 sons-Joseph (Britt) of Genoa City, WI, Jeffrey (Jena) of Lake Geneva, WI and Richard L. Jr. of Genoa City, WI; 4 grandchildren-Jackson, Benjamin, Grace and Joey; 3 brothers-Vincent of Genoa City, WI, William "Bill" (Kathy) of Lake Geneva, WI and Clifford (Pat) of Genoa City, WI; mother-in law-Frances Siedschlag of Elkhorn, WI.
He was preceded in death by 2 brothers-John and Fred.
The Ecklund Family would like to thank the Genoa City Police Dept., Bloomfield/Genoa City Rescue Squad, Medix Ambulance and the ER Staff at Aurora Lakeland Medical Center for all of their care and compassion.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Saturday January 31, 2015 at theBadger High School Auditorium 200 E. South St. Lake Geneva, WI. with Pastor Joyce Rossen of Trinity Lutheran Church officiating. The Ecklund Family will receive friends from 10:00AM Saturday until the time of services at the Badger High School Auditorium.
