Richard "Dick" L. Gilkey, 85 of Elkhorn, WI, passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at Holton Manor in Elkhorn, WI.  He was born March 5, 1939, in Fort Atkinson, WI, the son of the late Charles and Irma (Binkert) Gilkey.  Dick graduated from Fort Atkinson High School.  He was united in marriage to Jean C. Winter on April 15, 1961, at St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church in Fort Atkinson, WI.  Dick was branch manager at Fort Savings and Loan for 20 years.  He moved onto Walworth County Treasurer where he served for 12 years. In retirement, he enjoyed working for Wedige Automotive. Dick and Jean were members of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Elkhorn.  He was a member and past president of Elkhorn Jaycees and Elkhorn Lions Club. Dick loved to spend time outdoors tending to his garden and maintaining his yard. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Dick is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Jean, three children: Deborah (Robert) Wessberg, David (Elizabeth) Gilkey, Connie (David) Koerner, five grandchildren: Matt (Melody) Gilkey, Brynn (Justin) Rohde, Charles (Allison) Wessberg, Rachel (Mark) Gordon, and Bethany (Eric Millar) Koerner, and ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Donald Gilkey.

Memorial Service will be 11:00AM on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at First Ev. Lutheran Church, 415 Devendorf St. Elkhorn, WI, with Pastor Mike Kuschel officiating.  Visitation will be from 10:00AM until service time Saturday at the church.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to First Ev.
