Richard "Dick" W. DeHaan age 96 of Elkhorn, WI died on Monday June 3, 2024 with his family at his bedside.  Dick was born on October 31, 1927; son of the late William and Ethel (Andrews) DeHaan.  Dick married Florence Thingstad on June 30, 1951 and together they raised their two children.  Dick began his business career in car sales, eventually owning a dealership in downtown Elkhorn.  In 1987, the dealership expanded to the south end of Elkhorn and evolved into an RV dealer. Dick retired from the dealership in 2004 and his son and family continued the business.  Dick enjoyed cars; he enjoyed owning them, driving them, and maintaining them.  He continued to drive those cars until his health would no longer let him in March of this year.  Dick was an avid outdoorsman - he loved to hunt, ride his motorcycles and cruise around in his cars. He had a special place in his heart for his dog Peaches and adored his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Dick is preceded in death by his parents; wife; daughter Carlyn DeHaan; and brother; Darrell DeHaan.  He is survived by his son David (Kim) DeHaan; grandchildren; Kylee (Tyler) Baur; Derek DeHaan; and great grandchildren; Everett, Lauren, Maren, Grant, Baby Baur, Caroline, Liam and his dear friend Charlene.

A Funeral Service will take place for Dick on Monday June 10, 2024 at 11:00AM at Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home and Crematory 730 N. Wisconsin Street Elkhorn, WI officiated by Rev. Dick Inglett.  Visitation will be held before the funeral beginning at 10:00AM.  A special thank you to the caring staff at The Gardens of Ridgestone as well as his hospice care team Jennifer and Selena.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Dick's name to Aurora at Home Hospice 116 N.
