IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ricky L.
Zanow
September 23, 1956 – March 13, 2022
On Sunday, March 13, 2022, Ricky L. Zanow passed away at his home surrounded by family at the age of 65. He was born in Milwaukee, WI and was the son of the late Shirley Zanow. For over 25 years, he was married to his wife Judy.
During his career, Rick was a master builder and received numerous awards for his outstanding craftsmanship and excellence in homebuilding. Rick was all about the details and constructed homes to last for generations to come. After retiring, he worked part-time as a building inspector and consultant.
Rick was passionate about sharing his faith and love for Christ. Evident in his personal and professional life, he expressed the heart of Jesus through acts of service with the use of his gifts and resources. He was a former board member for Youth for Christ and held various leadership positions at Life Church in Gurnee, IL. Additionally, Rick volunteered and led mission trips in countries spanning across the world to spread the Gospel.
Whether cheering on site or rooting from home, Rick expressed his love for Wisconsin's baseball, basketball, and football teams and was a proud Green Bay Packer Stockholder. For over 20 years, he looked forward to fishing in Canada with his buddies and enjoyed cooking their all you can eat fish frys. At times one would catch Rick "shimmying", with his silly grin, to his Motown or bluegrass music that one could not help but chuckle. He enjoyed the thrills of a good roller coaster and couldn't wait to go on the family's annual vacation to Cedar Point. It was there he experienced what he cherished the most, time with his family.
Survived by his wife, daughters Ashley and Malissa Roberts, grandsons Maximillion, Trace, and Mason, siblings Cody Zanow and Lorrie (Dave) Kolacinski, nieces Amber, Carly, Megan, nephews Corey, Graham, Josh, Ryan, and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, grandparents (Everett and Florence), sister Fawn (Jan and niece Buffy) Masalewicz and sister-in-law Naomi Zanow.
