Robert W. “Bob” Arnold of Elkhorn, Wisconsin passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 3, 2026 at Lakeland Health Care Center in Elkhorn. Bob passionately pursued many interests and activities throughout life, yet he always maintained deep appreciation for simple pleasures.

He graduated from Elkhorn High School with the Class of 1948, then earned his Law Degree at the University of Wisconsin Madison. He was united in marriage to his loving Wife Barbara “Barb” Hoyt on October 9, 1954 at the Community Church of Fontana. Bob proudly served two years with the United States Army Military Police (MP) and was a member of the 5th Army Pistol Team where his competitive pistol shooting enthusiasm began. Upon Honorable Discharge from the Army, Bob and Barb returned to Elkhorn where Bob practiced Law with his Father Lyman at Arnold & Arnold, and also served 30 years as the Walworth County Family Court Commissioner, plus 12 years on the Walworth County Board of Supervisors for the Town of Sugar Creek. Bob was an active volunteer and participant in various organizations including: Elkhorn Pistol Club, Volunteer Air Pistol Instructor for Walworth County 4H Shooting Sports, Concealed Carry Instructor, Kiwanis Club, and American Legion Post 45 in Elkhorn. Bob received several competitive pistol awards including The US Civilian Distinguished Pistol Shot Badge and Wisconsin State Pistol Champion. Bob was also a gifted woodcarver, creating many heirlooms for family members with cherry wood from his own trees. His other favorite activities included working around the farm, gardening, planting trees, playing sheepshead, and vacationing especially up to Northern Wisconsin.
Bob loved spending time with his family and will be deeply missed, but never forgotten. Bob is survived by his Wife of nearly 72 years Barbara, Son John Arnold, Daughter Lynn (Mike) McTrusty, Grandson Matthew (Alexa) McTrusty, Great Grandson Levi McTrusty, and many other beloved family members.
