Obituary

Robert L. Guiler, 92 of Delavan, WI, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 23, 2024, surrounded by family at Ridgestone in Delavan.  He was born September 29, 1931, in Vincennes, IN, the son of the late Robert P. and Helen (Jansen) Guiler.  Bob graduated from Wylie High School in Terre Haute, IN in 1949 and went on to earn a bachelor's degree in engineering from Rose Hulman Institute of Technology in 1953.  He proudly served in the United States Army.  On November 27, 1952, Bob married the love of his life, Carolyn A. McGregor, in Terre Haute, IN.  They enjoyed 66 years filled with love, many memories and their large family.  Bob worked as an Electrical Engineer at Sta-Rite, G.E. and Beloit Power System.   Carolyn and Bob owned multiple businesses together, including the Anchor Inn and The Stitchery.  In their later years, they enjoyed traveling to see their children, to Europe, up north to their cabin in Harshaw, WI, and to Palm Springs.  He was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Delavan, WI.  Bob enjoyed being an engineer but his favorite hobby of investing in the stock market earned him more money than he ever made as an engineer.  He enjoyed constantly staying up to date with markets.  Bob was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Bob is survived by his five children: Robert (Wendy) Guiler, Betsy Franklin, Shirley (Michael) Millsap, Nancy (Ed) Snyder, and Ann Guiler, daughter-in-law, Sandy Guiler, twenty grandchildren, and forty-one great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carolyn, son, Michael Guiler, daughter, Carrie (Brad) Dodge, and sister, Helen (Jim) Hegarty.

Funeral Service will be 11:00AM on Friday, June 28, 2024, at St. Andrew's Catholic Church.  Visitation will be from 10:00AM until service time Friday at the church.
