Robert E. Harrington; 85, of Elkhorn, WI and Naples, FL died Wednesday November 9, 2016 at Aurora Lakeland Medical Center Elkhorn, WI.  He was born April 3, 1931 in Elkhorn, WI the son of the late Delos J. and Jeanette (Briggs) Harrington. He graduated from Elkhorn High School with the Class of 1949; he then attended the University of Wisconsin Platteville.  Bob served in the Wisconsin National Guard from 1948 until 1949.  He enlisted into the US Navy in 1951 and served until 1955.  Bob was united in marriage to Catherine Ann Ellsworth from 1953 until 1970. On April 14, 1973 at Como Community Church he married Barbara J. Butke.  Bob was a Registered Professional Court Reporter, for over thirty years.  Bob worked as official court reporter for Rock County Courts Janesville, WI and Collier County Courts Naples, FL retiring in 1996.  He was elected and served three terms as Clerk of Courts for Walworth County Circuit Courts.  He was a member of the Elkhorn VFW Post #6375, Commodore of Gulf Coast Sailing Club of Naples, FL; He was a U.S. Merchant Marine Officer with a U.S. Coast Guard Master Captains License. He was a past member of American Legion, Elkhorn Lion's Club, National, Florida and Wisconsin Court Reporters Association. He enjoyed being on the water and sailing.  Bob was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather who will be deeply missed by his wife of 43 years, Barbara, two children; his son David (Suzanne) Harrington and his daughter Sue Oakes, Three grandchildren; Amanda Oakes, Joshua Oakes and Vanessa Werner, his sister; Mary (Albert) Reed all of Elkhorn, WI and by a host of other relatives and friends. Bob was preceded in death by his son Donald and a brother John.  Graveside service with military honors will be held 2:30 PM Sunday November 13, 2016 at Hazel Ridge Cemetery Elkhorn, WI.
