Robert 'Bob' Peterson, of Elkhorn, WI, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on January 14th, 2025.  Bob was born in Elkhorn, WI on October 27th, 1948 to the late Gerald and Audrey (LeBaron) Peterson.  He grew up in Sharon, WI and graduated from Big Foot High School in 1966.  Bob continued his education at UW-Whitewater where he earned a BS in Education in 1970 and soon after started a teaching position in Portage, WI.  Quickly deciding that teaching was not going to be for him, he made a switch to the telephone industry.  He started working at the Sharon Telephone Company and then transferred to State Long Distance in Elkhorn in 1982.  Bob would spend 25 years at State Long Distance and retired in 2007.

While attending UW-Whitewater, Bob met his soon to be wife Kathleen (Anderson) Peterson.  They were united in marriage on June 4th, 1972 and spent a wonderful 49 years together until Kathy's passing in 2021.  Together they were able to enjoy over 15 years in retirement and loved working together in the yard/garden, taking the family dogs for walks, assembling puzzles, and spending time with family.

Bob is survived by his two sons Scott and Jeff (Liana), grandson Everett, as well as 4 nieces Lisa, Nicole, Stephanie, and Pam.  He was preceded in death by his parents; Gerald and Audrey, wife Kathy, and sister Trudy (Donald) Rogers.
