Robert L. Vail age 74 of Fontana, WI died January 19, 2024 surrounded by his loving family at Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center in Milwaukee, WI. He was born on December 21, 1949.  The son of the late Lyle and Winnifred (Bolton) Vail.

Bob has been a lifelong resident of Fontana and loved that community.   In his early years he was a Scout Master.  He loved to spend time with his children and taking them to the Boat, Car, or Sports Shows in Milwaukee where he would gather every brochure and read them all later.   He was an avid tv watcher, especially Westerns or Game Shows.  Bob started his passion of working on motors at Vail's Midway Garage which then progressed to over 58 years working on buses.  Some companies he has worked for over those years are Big Foot Bus Company, Koerner Bus Company, DeHaan Jeep, Lenon Bus which then became Dousman Bus Company where he was currently employed for the last 26 years. Bob was also a Jeep enthusiast and had been restoring a 1942 Jeep Willy.   Bob enjoyed traveling, especially to Door County, WI.   He was an advocate of the Special Olympics and Lakeland School in Elkhorn, WI.  He always strived to make others' lives better.

Survived by his children: Tanya (Dan) Butke, Jeremy (Trisha) Vail and Nick (Julia) Vail.  Grandfather to Gage, Ben, Alex, Oliver, Landen, Wyatt, Elliott, Addie, Lewis and Finn.  Brother to Cindy Vail-Battisti and Cecelia (Thomas) Perry.  Further survived by his Fiancé Cindy Wilinski and her children Sarah (Drew) Wellman, Matt (Tausha) Wilinski and their children Jenner and Quinn Wellman, Ellie and Mason Wilinski.

Private family committal services will be held at Roselawn Memory Gardens.  A Celebration of Bob's life will be held on June 22, 2024 at the Evergreen Country Club Pavillion in Elkhorn, WI  The Celebration will go from 12:00PM until 4:00PM.  Memorials in his name may be made to Walworth County Lakeland School, W3905 County Rd NN Elkhorn, WI. 53121.
