Roger Arnold
Larsen
May 9, 1933 – January 31, 2025
With great sadness, we say goodbye to a special person in our lives, Roger A. Larsen, age 91 of Elkhorn, WI. He passed away peacefully on Friday January 31, 2025. Roger was born on May 9, 1933; son of the late Arnold and Dorothy (Belton) Larsen and grew up on a dairy farm. Roger was united in marriage to Kathryn "Katie" Seymour in Elkhorn, WI on September 17, 1953. Together, they made Elkhorn their home and raised their family. He was drafted into the army and proudly served his country in the Signal Corps while stationed in Germany. In 2016, he had the opportunity to participate in an Honor Flight recognizing his dedicated service. After serving in the army, Roger ran his own business as a milkman. He made stops all over Walworth County to deliver milk in the community creating lasting friendships. Roger started the Elkhorn Rec. Department in the 50's out of his garage as a testament to his passion for youth sports, his dedication towards that program has made the current program grow into what it is today. He also coached the boys' basketball team at St. Patrick's school, and began the girls' basketball program as well. In the summer months, he coached and umpired little league baseball. Roger officiated high school football and baseball until he was 80 years old. Over those years, he was inducted into the Wisconsin Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame as an umpire; and he was inducted into the Elkhorn All Sports Booster Club Hall of Fame. When it came to other sports, Roger was an avid fan of the Packers, Badgers, Brewers and any sports his children, grandkids and great grandkids played. When he wasn't involved with sports, Roger had a love for lawn care and gardening; he used those skills to win grand champion in the giant pumpkin at the fair. Above all "Bomps" lived a life of dedicated love to his family.
Roger is survived and missed dearly by his wife, Katie; children, Libbie VanderVeen, Eric (Darsie) Larsen, Heidi (Paul) McGraw; grandchildren, Becky (Luke) Stallings, Bradley (Lindsay) VanderVeen, Gregg (Brittany) VanderVeen, Jacob (Holly) Larsen, Carly Larsen, Kelly (Matt) Ranallo, Maggie (Alex) Wales; great-grandchildren, Skylar Harlan, Daschel, Harper, Lenox, & Penelope Stallings, Caroline, & Olivia VanderVeen, Ava, Sawyer, & Finn VanderVeen, Jaxon & Cameryn Larsen, Eve Ranallo, baby Wales on the way, and one brother, Walter Larsen.
