Roland "Rollie" Burmeister age 96 of Twin Lakes, WI died Sunday evening September 21, 2014 at Hospice Alliance, Hospice House in Pleasant Prairie, WI.
Roland "Rollie" was born on August 5, 1918 in the Town of Wheatland, WI, the son of the late Alvin and Elsie Steffen Burmeister. On August 22, 1941, he was united in marriage to Josephine Stanczyk. He has been a resident of Kenosha County his entire life.
Rollie served in the U.S. Army during WWII. For over 50 years, he has been owner and operator of Melody Park Campground in Twin Lakes and Rollie and Jo's Resort. He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Twin Lakes, the Twin Lakes American Legion Post #544 and the Twin Lakes Area Chamber and Business Assoc. He enjoyed playing horseshoes, was an avid bowler and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Rollie is survived by: His wife-Josephine; 2 sons-Kenneth (Brenda) Burmeister of San Antonio, TX and Robert Burmeister of Twin Lakes, WI; 1 daughter-Kathy Burmeister of Twin Lakes, WI; 3 grandchildren-Amanda, Sam and Brian and 1 great granddaughter-Jules.
He was preceded in death by 3 brothers-Donald, Bud and Melvin and 2 sisters-Grace Schultz and Evelyn Kriska.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30PM Saturday September 27, 2014 at the Haase-Lockwood & Assoc. Funeral Home in Twin Lakes. Interment with Military Honors will be in St. John's Cemetery.
