IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ronald D.
Marty
February 11, 1939 – January 16, 2025
Ronald D. Marty, age 85, of Delavan, WI, passed away on Thursday, January 16, 2025, in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loving family. Son of the late Walter and Alice (Hogan) Marty, Ron was born on February 11, 1939, in Beloit, WI. He served in the United States Army and later worked in sheet metal, retiring from Martin Petersen Company in Kenosha, WI.
On October 13, 1973, he was happily united in marriage with Linda R. Knapp in Zenda, WI. Ron loved road trips and traveling throughout Wisconsin in his early married life with Linda. He and Linda most notably traveled to Tegucigalpa, Honduras in 1985 to adopt their daughter Melissa. Soon after in 1986, they traveled yet again to Chile, South America to adopt their son Bryan. He later shared that those experiences and memories were a pivotal part of his and Linda's life together.
He was a lover of many hobbies and pastimes throughout his life, including snowmobiles, water skiing, dune buggies, woodworking, Cris Craft boats and classic cars. In his later years, he dedicated his time to hobbies around the home, playing around in his shop, bird watching, and more importantly, his grandchildren. He was a very influential figure in their lives, supporting them over the years in many ways, but his favorite was at his grandsons' basketball and football games. After retirement, he stayed busy driving part-time for Nelson's Bus Service in Whitewater, WI along with a maintenance job at People's Bank in Elkhorn, WI.
Ron is survived by his devoted wife of 51 years, Linda Marty; children, Melissa (Marcus) Raby of Delavan, WI and Bryan Marty of Miami, FL; grandchildren, Adante, Jayden, and Xiomara Raby; and sister, Vicki Bradford.
