Sally Ann Smith

Sally Ann Smith, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, dedication, and love. Born on October 21, 1947, in New Kensington, PA, Sally lived a life enriched by her commitment to others, always placing the needs and happiness of those around her above her own.

For over 40 years, Sally devoted herself to the noble profession of teaching. She believed wholeheartedly in nurturing the minds and hearts of her students, a commitment that fostered countless friendships and memories throughout her career. Her impact extended far beyond the classroom walls, touching the lives of generations who carried forward the lessons of compassion and perseverance she imparted.

Among her greatest joys was spending treasured moments with daughter Jennifer (Nick) Johnson and her grandchildren Logan, Gabe, and Max. Watching them grow and thrive brought immense happiness to her days, just as much as the cherished time she spent with her sister JoAnn (John) Taylor and their families in Pennsylvania, especially during holidays and family gatherings, where laughter and love were always abundant. The bonds she shared with her nephews Michael, Curt (Diane), and Chris (Mary) Taylor and their families were also a vital part of her life’s tapestry.

Sally’s love extended beyond her family to the many special friends who enriched her journey, each blessing her life with companionship and warmth. Her passion for gardening mirrored her nurturing spirit, as she found peace and joy in tending to her plants, watching them bloom much like the lives she nurtured.

She was preceded in death by her loving parents, John and Kathryn (Alaksa) Kamperin, whose legacy of love she carried with grace throughout her life.

Sally Ann Smith lived a life marked by selflessness and devotion, a gentle soul who embraced every day with an open heart. Her memory will forever be a beacon of love and inspiration to all who knew her. Through the lives she touched, her spirit continues to blossom, reminding us all to live with kindness and to cherish the connections we hold dear.

Sally is also survived by her brother, Kenneth Kamperin.

Private family services will be held. The Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home and Crematory of Twin Lakes, WI is honored to serve the family.
